“We are convinced that ASCAME participation in this project will make it known to companies and officials in our emerging and growing region.”

As ASCAME’s vice president, it was a real honour to attend the official launch of the Blue Growth Community in the Mediterranean, an innovative initiative under the horizontal InnoBlueGrowth project, funded by the INTERREG Med program, of which ASCAME is a consortium partner.

The launch of the Community is the first of a series of events that will take place over the next three years, and where the modular projects involved in the project, will have the opportunity to discuss and exchange ideas on the main issues related to blue growth such as Blue energy, yachting or maritime surveillance, in order to layout a better future for the region.

ASCAME is considered the main representative of the Mediterranean private sector, composed by a member’s network of over 300 Chambers of Commerce and Industry and other similar bodies belonging to the north and south shores of our region. Over the years, our association has taken a leading position in regional development and now works together with more than 40 high-level international organizations and institutions, working for the social and economic growth of the Mediterranean region, such as the European Union (EU), the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) and the European Investment Bank (EIB). Our mission is always to create an integrated Euro-Mediterranean area and give us the first place in regional cooperation projects.

In this project, ASCAME develops and implements a communication strategy, given the wide range of recognized beneficiary groups, including those identified by modular projects for their expertise and spheres of influence/actions, as well as project partners.

We are convinced that ASCAME’s participation in this project will make it known to companies and officials in our emerging and growing region, which can stimulate development and innovation, etc. For example clusters/network operators, EU national, regional and local institutions, UfM, small and medium-sized enterprises, public and young people in general, the private sector, Interreg MED and its working group.

On behalf of ASCAME, again, I extend my congratulations for the initiative of this project and the creation of the Mediterranean Blue growth community that will encourage cooperation at the Euro-Mediterranean level.
