Barcelona, 25th January 2019 – The President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tunis, Mr. Mounir Mouakhar has been elected President of the Permanent Conference of African and French-Speaking Consular Chambers (CPCCAF). The elections were held in the framework of the 44th General Assembly of CPCCAF, on 11th and 12th December 2018 in Dakar, Senegal.

The 2019 – 2021 mandate will focus mainly on the development of entrepreneurship and the professionalization of economic operators, on the facilitation of technical and commercial partnerships between French-speaking African companies and on the implementation of professional and entrepreneurial training.

CPCCAF, which was created in 1973, is an economic cooperation network serving the African and Francophone private sector. It’s a recognized institution by the economic Francophonie and it has a sustained activity in economic cooperation within the Francophone area, with more than 250 projects since 1973 aiming at supporting the growth of the African private sector and supporting businesses. This institution is supported by many important partners such as the French Development Agency (AFD), the European Commission, the International Trade Center (ITC). CPCCAF is thus a key player in development in Africa, with the main mission of strengthening African economies to ensure a harmonious development of the business world between African and Francophone businesses.

ASCAME congratulates the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tunis, member of the Association, for this success and encourages the cooperation between Mediterranean actors in order to work for the economic development of the region.
