Barcelona, 12 December 2016 – The Association of the Mediterranean Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ASCAME) strongly condemns the terrorist attacks that were carried out in Istanbul, Turkey and Cairo, Egypt.  ASCAME expresses its deepest condolences to the families of the victims and the Turkish and Egyptian people.

Terrorism represents a direct threat not only to the territorial integrity and national security but also to the Mediterranean and worldwide stability and prosperity.

That’s why we encourage all the Mediterranean countries to join their forces in order to counter these attacks and to keep promoting social and economic development. The private-public partnerships and regional economic cooperation represent essential tools to fight terrorism.
