ASCAME and the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Beirut and Mount Lebanon, organisers of the MedDiet Mashrek International Capitalisation Event, in Beirut next April 21.

The next 21st of April the MedDiet Mashrek International Capitalisation Event will take place in Beirut, Lebanon, in parallel with Horeca Exhibition. The event is organized by the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Beirut and Mount Lebanon (CCIABML) and the Association of the Mediterranean Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ASCAME) in the framework of the MedDiet project – Mediterranean Diet and enhancement of traditional foodstuff – financed by the European Union through the ENPI CBC MED Programme.

The MedDiet Mashrek International Capitalisation Event will count on important institutional representatives, the Ministry of Tourism of Lebanon, the EU Delegation in Lebanon, the President of the CCIABML and ASCAME, UNIONCAMERE and representatives from Slow Food Association, Med Diet Foundation, Slow Med project, Syndicate of Owners of Restaurants in Lebanon, MUCEM, and other participants from the different countries of the Mashreq Region.

The event is an opportunity to extend the network created by the project and ensure the participation of stakeholders of the Mediterranean agri-food sector in the defence and promotion of the Med Diet, using the tools and outputs created during the project activities, such as the Mediterranean Diet Knowledge System, and the Med Diet Quality Label.

Thanks to this event, the participants will have a chance to know the great work which has been carried out, and to learn how respecting the traditions of the Mediterranean Diet can be a lever for economic development of the region and a unique selling proposition for SMEs of the agro-food sector, as well as to promote the Gastronomic Tourism in the Mediterranean.

During the event, the MedDiet declaration will be signed by the institutions supporting the Mediterranean Diet.

The project is implemented by a Euro Mediterranean Consortium composed by the Special Agency Centre of  Services for Enterprises (Italy), Olive Oil Towns Association (Italy), the Mediterranean Diet Foundation (Spain), CEEBA – Confederation of Egyptian European Business Associations (Egypt), Chamber of Commerce of Tunis (Tunisia), the Routes of Olive Tree (Greece), the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Messinia (Greece), the Forum of Adriatic and Ionian Chambers (Italy), AEMO- Spanish Association of Olives Cities (Spain),  ASCAME –the Association of Mediterranean Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Spain), the National Agriculture Research Institute of Tunisia, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Beirut and Mount –Lebanon (Lebanon) and UNIONCAMERE (Italy) as lead partner.
