2nd International Conference on Technological Developments in European Ports and Logistics, at the Piraeus Chamber of Commerce & Industry, 24th & 25th of June 2015.
E-TRANSIT “Integrated and Interoperable Maritime Transit Management System” MED project – co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund under the MED Programme – has achieved major accomplishments towards the goal of adopting modern ICT technologies (Information & Computing Technologies), as well as supervising container terminals. Such tools are the basis for the promotion of multimodal ports and logistics in general. The National Technical University “National Metsovion Polytechnic” is the coordinator of the project and organizes, together with “Logistics SEAbility” company, the 2nd Conference with the subject “Multimodality and Intermodality as drivers of change for ports and logistics”, which took place on the 24th-25th of June 2015, on the premises of the Piraeus Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
The conference is introduced by representatives of the Ministry of Economy, Infrastructure, Marine and Tourism as well as Greek and European bodies, such as the Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Piraeus, the International Maritime Union, the Technology Platform ALICE, the European Agency EUROPLATFORMS. Prominent speakers from academia, industry and operators of ports, such as PCT SA and the Valenciaport Foundation, Andalusian Institute of Technology, Andalusian Public Ports Authority, Luka Koper, Co.Na.Te.Co. SpA, as well as representatives of Institutional and Professional Bodies, will present and discuss a number of issues in specific technical sessions and round table discussions.
