Description

The Mediterranean Climate Change Adaptation Awards are targeting local authorities, national entities, public universities and research centers, NGOs and private sector in association with public stakeholders to present their action in rural, urban or coastal areas from the 24 Mediterranean countries. This concourse aims at awarding best solutions from the territories within these 3 categories:

– Infrastructures and facilities to improve resilience
– Solutions for the preservation of natural resources and protection of ecosystems
– Policies and tools (planning, incentives, funding approaches, etc.) for better detection of vulnerabilities and risks.

The finalists (the winner in each prize category) will receive:

– Tailored support from the partners (study tour, meetings with technical and financial partners)
– Invitations to two international workshops in 2020 (tbd)
– International promotion of your actions (press communications, dedicated publication, short movie).

Initiated by the French Agency for Environment and Energy Management (ADEME), in partnership with the Union for Mediterranean, Plan Bleu and AViTeM, these Awards are inviting all stakeholders in Mediterranean countries to showcase their climate change adaptation action.
