Barcelona, 21 December 2015 – On the occasion of the final conference of the OPTIMED project, which took place last 18th December in Barcelona, all the partners met on 19th December 2015 for the 5th and Final Optimed project Steering Committee meeting, organized in cooperation with the Association of the Mediterranean Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ASCAME), the Chamber of Commerce of Beirut and Mount Lebanon (CCIABML), and the lead partner Region Autonomous of Sardinia.
The meeting was the occasion for the partners to discuss the key points to be considered for carrying out evaluation activities, such as measuring the project performance in terms of efficiency, assessing the actual impact of the project activities on the main target groups and checking the project results dissemination towards the other target groups.
The last Steering Committee provided all the partners with the opportunity to draw a picture of the possibilities to follow up the Optimed project with specific actions oriented to implement the innovative network system which has been conceived during the two years of the project. The possibilities encompass fundraising for the needed infrastructures, involving shipping companies to test the system, involving stakeholders in the evaluation of the advantages that could actually arise for the entire economic system with the implementation of Optimed system.
With a total budget of €1,999,403.13, OPTIMED is a project funded under ENPI CBC MED, the financial instrument supporting the European Neighborhood Policy (ENP) in the Mediterranean basin. It aims at promoting new opportunities, facilities, tools and skills in order to improve the commercial connections and relationships between public and private operators in maritime transport and logistics sector from Southern – Eastern to Northern – Western ports of the Mediterranean Sea.
