Barcelona, March 21, 2018 – ASCAME has participated this week at the EBSOMED Project, in which ASCAME contributes as partner, Management Working Group. The meeting, which took place the 12th April in Tunisia at the Union of Mediterranean Confederations of Enterprises (BUSINESSMED) headquarters, served as an introduction of the strategic lines of this new EuropeAid project as well as the MedAlliance consortium functioning, the governance and some financial and administrative procedures.
While the focus was put on economic integration, business and investment promotion, EBSOMED has been designed to achieve a higher indirect economic leverage by helping Med Business Support Organisations (employers, chambers of commerce, economic and development agencies, business federations and women-led institutions) to make a qualitative scaling up in regards to the services they offer to their beneficiaries, while pursuing this successful cross border cooperation dynamic.
The attendances, including the new member of the MedAlliance consortium, CAWTAR (Center of Arab Women for Training and Research), also stressed the importance of working in order to give continuous support to EU project management.
ASCAME will be one of the main actors of the project due to the strategic priority that EBSOMED gives to business support organisations such as the chambers of commerce of the Mediterranean region, which a vast majority are ASCAME’s members.
The project’s Kick-off meeting will be held in Tunis (Tunisia) last week of June 2018 in the presence of EBSOMED Partners, among them ASCAME, Euro-Mediterranean Business Support Organisations and high-level speakers. The kick-off meeting will be preceded by the 2nd Executive Committee.
