Barcelona, July 30, 2019 – On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of His Majesty’s reign, King Mohammed VI, the Association of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Mediterranean (ASCAME) would like to congratulate His Majesty and all the people of Morocco.

Over the past two decades, Morocco has embarked on an important process of modernization and liberalization in the economic, political and social fields, despite the difficult context in which the country finds itself. Rest assured that our institution will continue to stand by your side to accompany and support the reforms undertaken to meet the Kingdom’s economic and social challenges.

Among the measures that have marked his reign to modernize the monarch are political reconciliation, the 2004 Family Code and the 2011 constitutional reform.

With all these, the country’s modernization is undeniable, which has enabled the Kingdom to become a reference in Africa and an emerging country in the international context.

Our efforts must remain united by an exemplary partnership and continue to play the leading role that must be theirs, in a troubled international context, particularly to strengthen the Euro-Mediterranean area that constitutes our common future. To this end, we underline the important role that the Kingdom of Morocco plays in the process of bringing the Mediterranean region closer together, stressing our readiness to continue to develop and intensify relations with Morocco.

As the representative of the Mediterranean private sector, ASCAME follows with interest the reforms of His Majesty King Mohammed IV and will remain a reliable partner for Morocco in this modernization effort.
