EMPHASIS Capitalisation Project will support SMEs through education, research, technological development and innovation.
ASCAME is happy to add Emphasis to its list of cooperation projects. Set in the framework of ENI CBC Med Programme, EMPHASIS (Euro-Mediterranean Network Facilitating Market Uptake of Innovations from SMEs) main goal is to facilitate the market uptake of innovations from SMEs by fostering their access to research, partnerships and innovation systems at the Euro Mediterranean Region.
Specific objectives include:
- Designing and setting up an Open Innovation (OI) system that offers integrated innovation support services.
- Validating OI opportunities and increasing the capacities of SMEs to innovate.
- Fostering cross-border partnerships and boosting engagement among innovation partners to turn external knowledge and sustainability challenges into tangible business opportunities for growth.
- Engaging policy makers and stakeholders to build a vibrant community of OI actors.
The project has a total budget of 818.689,39€ – 90% of which is funded directly by the European Union– and it will last two years. ASCAME will contribute with its expertise in facilitating cooperation activities, as well as with its role as a key representative of the Euro Mediterranean private sector.
To kick off EMPHASIS, ASCAME met with the whole project consortium: KINNO Consultants (Grèce), Jordan University of Science and Techonology JUST (Jordanie), Industrial Research Institute Lebanon (Liban), Confederation of Egyptian European Business Associations (Égypte) and Parco Scientifico e Tecnologico della Sicilia (Italie). All organisations will join their strengths to promote the economic and social development of the Mediterranean.
