ENI CBC Med Programme first step results

ASCAME, on behalf of the Mediterranean SMEs during the MedCop21

ASCAME, though the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Marseille Provence -CCIMP-  will lead the workshop "Focus on SMEs/SMIs": Mediterranean companies and climate change which will be held on June 5th in the framework of the MedCop 21: the Mediterranen Civil Society Forum.

Under the high patronage of Mr. François Hollande, President of the French Republic, this forum will be held on June 4th and 5th, 2015, in Marseille, in sight of the twenty-first Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change to be held from 30 November to 11 December in Paris (COP21/CMP11) and in the framework of which, should emerge a new international climate agreement, in order to keep global warming below 2°C

During this 2-day conference marked by plenary sessions and workshops, the main actors of the Mediterranean civil society will be invited to give thought to potential synergies of existing initiatives or create and formulate proposals for intensifying the passage of strategic frameworks to concrete achievements and develop cooperation accelerating change.

Mr. Alaa Ezz will speak on June 4th, as Secretary General of the ASCAME Commission for Environment and Climate Change, during the round table entitled "Review and the positive agenda of civil society", during which will be discussed the results of multi-stakeholder cooperation dynamics, new forms of co-production citizen participation, responses to climate challenges and the emergence of key players to a more sustainable development.

The two ASCAME Commissions for Environment and Climate Change and for Renewable Energies, chaired by the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Tangier, will share their expertises and experiences in the framework of the SMEs/SMIs Mediterranean workshop.
