MedaWeek Barcelona closes its 13th edition with a firm commitment to green economy, female talent and Africa

The Mediterranean Week of Economic Leaders, MedaWeek Barcelona, ​​concluded its 13th edition with a total of 1,280 international participants. Sustainable economy, the incorporation of female talent into the regional economy and the opening of the African market to Mediterranean companies were the key axes of the main economic event in the region.


Renewable energies and sustainability will change the rules of the game for Mediterranean economies

MedaWeek Barcelona 2019, the ‘Mediterranean Week of Economic Leaders’, will place climate change in the centre of attention of the economies of the region on the 23rd of November during the 8th edition of the ‘EcoMeda Sustainability Summit’. A meeting in which potential measures to face the rising temperatures and rising sea levels will be discussed.


ASCAME proposes at COP21 programmes for assistance to businesses in the fight against climate change

The Association of the Mediterranean Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ASCAME), will attend these days the Paris Climate Conference (COP21), to show its commitment to the use of renewable energies and sustainable models of production that generate fewer emissions in the Mediterranean region.

ASCAME strongly condemns the terrorist attacks in Paris

The Association of the Mediterranean Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ASCAME) firmly condemns the shameful terrorist attacks carried out yesterday in various locations in and around Paris, extending our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and the people of France and wishing a speedy recovery to those injured.


ASCAME will organizes a Euro-Mediterranean Summit

This year, on the occasion of the 20th Anniversary of the Barcelona Process and in the framework of the 9th  Mediterranean Week of Economic Leaders,  ASCAME will organize on the 25th of November  a Euro-Mediterranean Summit, bringing together the main actors in the Mediterranean region, coming from the private sector. It aims to support the Euro-Mediterranean integration process from the civil society.

This summit will bring together the Euro-Mediterranean Business Leaders, Business Associations, Presidents of the Chambers of Commerce  and Industry, and SMEs representatives.  

Its main objectives are to involve the Euro-Mediterranean Association, to support the Barcelona Process and the UfM and to make efforts towards the implementation of a Euro-Mediterranean area of economic integration. This meeting intends to provide the public and private organizations from both sides of the region with the appropriate tools, so that to enhance  cooperation and exchange of knowledge for a more efficient and integrate development.
