ASCAME (Association of the Mediterranean Chambers of Commerce and Industry), as one of the partners of the new MAIA-TAQA European Project, will participate in the project kick-off meeting that will take place on the 2nd and 3rd of October 2019 at the Centre for Renewable Energy Sources and Saving - CRES, in Pikermi (Greece).

The three-year EU MAIA-TAQA project, entitled Mobilizing new Areas of Investments and Together aiming to increase Quality of Life for All’, aims to transfer know-how and develop innovative energy services and technologies from Europe to the Middle East and North Africa countries. It also focuses on improving energy, water and waste efficiency, as well as promoting innovative resource services in Mediterranean SMEs through the enhancement of their technical and management capacities.

MAIA-TAQA is funded under the ENI CBCMED programme by 90% (€2.85 million), has a total budget of €3.17 million and is coordinated by CRES, counting with a significant representation of Southern European and Middle East and North African Mediterranean countries with partners from Greece, Spain, Italy, Jordan, Lebanon and Egypt.

Not only ASCAME will have a relevant presence through its own participation as organisation partner, but also the Confederation of Egyptian-European Business Associations (CEEBA), associated member of ASCAME, will collaborate. At the closing of the meeting a press conference will be held at CRES.
