BCN EuroMed Invest Academy: Empowering Business Support Organizations in the region

Barcelona, ​​September 05, 2017 – The Association of the Mediterranean Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ASCAME) organizes -with the collaboration of the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce and the German-Arab Chamber of Commerce (GACIC) - the Barcelona EuroMed Invest Academy 2017 under the title: Promote & Empower Business Support Organizations within the Med region. This event, organized in the framework of the EuroMed Invest project, will take place next 21-22 November in the Casa Llotja de Mar of Barcelona during the 11th Mediterranean Week of Economic Leaders (MedaWeek Barcelona).

The EuroMed Invest, of which ASCAME is a founding member, aims at generate sustainable and inclusive investment and trade and partnership projects in the region. The project reaches out to millions of companies, SMEs and entrepreneurs, as well as private and public sector organizations and business support organizations with the aim of gather them in various projects to increase the flow of North-South and South-South investments in the Mediterranean.

Indeed, the Barcelona EuroMed Invest Academy will be focused on boosting the quality of the regional business support organizations (BSO) and maximizing exchanges between these organizations serving SMEs. The final aim of this upcoming meeting is to allow the creation of a large, robust and efficient BSO networking among the Euro Med region.

The best trainers on FDI-promotion, business support services and support for new entrepreneurs as well as lobbyists and international companies will attend the Academy in order to share their knowledge and experiences.

Academy was a good opportunity for BSOs to improve their management capacities as well as the quality of services provided to their members.

EUROMED Invest is a project financed by the European Union through the EuropeAid Programme. It aims to boost private business and investments within the Euromed development. The project is implemented by a Public Private Alliance, supported by 79 affiliate partners as Agencies in charge of investment and economic development, Export agencies, Business support associations, Federations of employers, Chambers of commerce and industry, in synergy with 7 international institutions as associate partners. The partners come from 19 EU countries and 7 South ENPI countries.
