The event will be held on June 15th, 2015, in Pálamos, Spain and will focus on the key role played by the small cruise ports in the Mediterranean sea.

The Mediterranean is the second most important cruise destination in the world and creates major wealth for coastal communities, whilst also giving impetus to port facilities. When talking about this industry, reference is usually made to large ports and megaships. However, there is a segment of the industry in which the ports are small and mid-sized ships shy away from the throngs.

The objective of this Symposium is to appreciate the value of small ports and discuss the important role they play in the cruise industry, as well as the industry’s economic impact on coastal destinations. Attendees will also learn about the opportunities created by this segment of the cruise industry for the region.
