Barcelona, November 23, 2018 – ASCAME organised the BCN EBSOMED Academy 2018: Support and Improve the Quality of Business Support Organisations (BSO) & Promote BSO Networking, on November 21st and 22nd, 2018, in Barcelona, Spain. It was organised in the framework of the MedaWeek Barcelona.

The Academy was a capacity building and experience aiming to create synergies and to develop a fruitful cooperation between EU and South Mediterranean region.

This 2-day event generated important and sustainable relations between BSOs, allowing the exchange of experience and good practices in internationalization and opening new ways for dialogue and cooperation. It gathered experts, employers' organizations, Chambers of Commerce and Industry, networks of entrepreneurs, associations, NGOs, decision-makers and public and private institutions working on business issues.

The first day focused on “Regional Business Dialogue,” which addressed the economic climate in North Africa, as well as, its repercussions on politics and society where several distinguished interventions were made by guest speakers.

The Academy took place in the framework of the North Africa Business Development Forum, which is one of the most iconic forum of the MedaWeek Barcelona, and by far the longest-running one. Like every year, this session was jointly organized by the European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed), and lays the groundwork for exploring the most relevant topics in the region.

The second day focused on “Mediterranean Talent – Diverse, Mobile and Connected” to highlight and rethink of the Human Capital Agenda in the Mediterranean region. It was implemented within the Human Capital Forum, co-organised with BBi Communication. The session on Digital Transformation of Human Resources, discussed synergies with topics included in the program and EBSOMED project.

The Academy was above all a great opportunity for all the participants to share with a wide circle of distinguished networkers, as well to contribute to fruitful discussions to support and improve the quality of BSOs and promote their networking.
